Family friendly eats in Lafayette

Taking the family to Lafayette for the weekend- probably go to Avery Island, do a Swamp Tour, and other activities that will entertain a 10 & 6 year old. Looking for lunch/dinner spots that they’ll enjoy. TIA

I haven't been to Avery Island in a long time, but there's a restaurant nearby called Restaurant 1868 that's open 9 AM - 3 PM.
If I were taking the kids to lunch/dinner, I'd try to find a place with a patio to take advantage of the good weather. Recs I'll give are patio-based, and not a full endorsement of the food. These are off the top of my head.
Agave Downtown/Kaliste/Bertrand/Youngsville, Lafayette (disclaimer: not a big fan of their food, but good atmosphere)
Hook and Boil, Broussard
Fezzo's, Broussard
Deanos Bertrand, Lafayette
Mandez Seafood Bar and Grill (small patio), Lafayette
Also have the Farmer and Artisan Market at Moncus Park on Saturday if y'all have time: LINK

Where are you doing the swamp tour?
The Tabasco restaurant on Avery Island suuuuuks. It's a cool place to chill out but damn the food is terrible.
If I were you I'd pack a picnic lunch and eat it at the Jungle Gardens.

Poor Boys Riverside Inn is fine for families. It has a large menu and the food is very good.

Not sure yet. Looks like there are several around that are pretty similarly priced. Suggestions welcome for that as well

Eat lunch at Cafe Jefferson on Jefferson Island after visiting Avery Island.

Cajun Country Swamp Tours at Lake Martin. Ask if Shawn is available. $20 for two hours. LeBlanc's is also good. Do not use Champagne's.
The problem with the swamp tour you can get from a place like McGee's in Henderson (now owned by the Boy Scouts, btw) is that their pontoon boats can't go into the parts of the swamp that are the prettiest, where the trees are close together. They can only do that when the water is pretty high, and sometimes that's only once or twice every couple of years.
There is a more expensive tour called The Atchafalaya Experience. Small boat in the Atchafalaya from a guy out of Lafayette. I haven't done it, but I've heard he's very good. Whereas the others I mentioned are not private tours, I'm pretty sure the Atchafalaya Experience is.

This is actually fantastic advice. The weather should be beautiful, they have great outdoor seating, and the food there is decent. It's only about a 30min drive from Avery Island.

Reading some of the reviews now. So far, this is my favorite.

The seafood bisque there is delicious! The quarter muffaletta is also good (can't say how it compares to Central Grocery because it's been years since I had one from there, but definitely better than some you can get in Lafayette).

Went to Mandez’s when we got in tonight- food was really good. I wish it wasn’t Friday, because I really wanted to try something non-seafood.
Probably Breakfast at the hotel and lunch at Avery Island (Easter Egg Hunt and Festival starts at 11).
How is Blue Dog cafe? Somebody else recommended it to me, and wife is interested, but I can probably talk her out of it if it’s no good.

Bring the kids to Bayou Teche around noon, they should have food going, a band playing, the cigar truck, and beer...
