I ordered a few pounds of boiled crawfish from a local grocery store. Usually it’s been good but today they were pretty dirty, with mud around some of the shells. What do I have to look forward to after eating a pound or so?

You'll be fine if it was only dirt/mud.

I wouldn't have eaten them. I can't recall ever having dirty crawfish, though..

if they are dirty after being bought already boiled, then they will taste dirty like mud.

Could be seasoning. Taste and report back. If it tastes like mud, don’t eat

Rouse's right?

They don't wash their crawfish before boiling.

Probably. I gave them a shot a few years ago because they were so cheap. I learned why they were so cheap after three.

I watched some videos of guys using the 2 pot method. The boiling pot was ridiculously dirty. Then they would put them in the soaking pot with the seasoning.

I did a boil last weekend and washed them in an ice chest and stirred them up good and dumped the water. I did this 3 times. The 1st wash, that water was really dirty. I can't believe a store wouldn't wash them first.
