I had KK for the first time this week even though I’ve seen it in gas stations for years now. It’s good. The honey biscuits are great.

FYI if you’re ever down in the keys checkout Dion’s fried chicken. It’s good stuff.

Recently discovered Mama's in the Opelousas area

Mama's is absolutely great FC and certainly worth the short detour off I-49 or US-190.

Southern Classic for the franchise variety.

Chubbies is really good. Gave it a shot after seeing it in HTM.

Anybody try Gus’s famous fried chicken?
One opened in Metairie

Also
Chicken in the box in Gentilly is awesome

They cut breast and back into smaller pieces
Haven’t been in awhile.

When fresh, Krispy Krunchy is top tier fast food fried chicken.

Mama’s in Opelousas is my favorite in that category, though. Especially now where they’re still selling real chicken drumsticks, unlike Popeyes which seems to use pigeon legs these days.

KK is OK for gas station fried chicken. Never had Brother's.
But what I've had is Rascal's in Duson, La Thursday lunch buffet 13.95 all u can eat fried chicken heaven. The fried egg plant, dirty rice, fries and green beans are great sides...but here it's all about the fresh hot fried chicken which is continually replenished on the buffet! Chicken is brined for 48 hours double breaded and fried to give u that heavenly experience. Its easy to get to right off I-10 at Exit 95 in Duson next to Cajun Claws Seafood Boilers. Get there early cuz its a big place and lots of folks there by 11 am!

Love how you ask which is better between 2 specific places and you get 67 other chicken joints...lol

Out of those two, Brothers. And it ain't even close. I would take Brother's under the heat lamp for an hour over straight out the grease KK. Now, there's a few I like better than Brothers but that's not what this is about.

Brother's but KK is acceptable outside of New Orleans/ Metairie.

Nothing like finding a chicken oasis on some lonely La. country hwy though.
