Yeah, someone school us on this chain. Is it just Tex-mex meets Cowboy Chicken?

It okay to decent. It's chicken with mexican spices.

Salsas and sides are inferior, as is the chicken vs the others.

Not as good as Pollo Rico, or Pollo Regio. Their chicken should have a little more seasoning than it does. But they aren't as stingy on to-go salsas as Pollo Rico.

They're ok, but when the H.E.B. near my house started selling Flaming Bird, I had no reason to go back.

HEB Flaming Bird...all of that for about 8 bucks. Man I miss HEB.

What is HEB?

Also Dire Wolf, is the food truck you're talking about the one on Johnston sort of by Legends? I'd be interested in trying it if it's decent.

It’ll be located across the street from Taco Sisters, La Fonda, and Social.

Aren't these on opposite sides of the street?

Yeah, not the best description. It'll be on the same side of Johnston as the new Taco Sisters. Across from Asbury.

Across from Asbury Methodist Church there is an empty lot. There used to be a gas station/convenience store there, but you'd miss it because it hadn't been in business for probably 15 years.

Glad to see new construction coming to that spot.

It's cheap, and has some quality knock off choice to sodas/chips/cookies etc, and their own unique stuff. In that regard, it's good.

Horrible bakery, horrible meat selection, horrible seafood selection, horrible deli, and nasty prepared foods.

But it's uniquely a Texas chain, and it's ours, so we love it.

Central Market however (HEB concept), is superior to Whole Foods

Pollo Campero on Williams in Kenner is probably the best fast-food fried chicken I've ever had. I realize I'm losing my Louisiana card by blaspheming Popeye's, but Pollo Campero is the GOAT. Latin-spiced, brittle skin, juicy chicken.

We are getting one here in Kingwood (Houston suburb) and from the folks I've talked to it's pretty tasty

Their best menu item is the chicken. I usually buy 2 chicken breasts (a la carte) and a packet of flour tortillas, it runs me about $6 and i leave satisfied.

The pico de gallo salsa is somewhat plain, but the avocado green salsa is quite tasty.

Their burritos and other items are meh.
