Durango area food recommendations

Will be in the Durango area for over a week in June. Are there any must eat or drink places the FDB recommends?

Ska & Steamworks are 2 great breweries in the area.

Not gonna lie, to me, this is the most random request I have seen on this board.
Other than the "headed to the south of France..." subtle brag threads.

Went there several times in the mid 80s for work. So, while I can't add anything to the restaurant discussion, I'm jealous because that is a great, scenic, town. And, if by some chance you get tossed in the local jail, the electronics system is/was an absolute nightmare, so escaping could be pretty easy.

Used to ski there every year growing up. Not all that random. I know several people who have cabins or second homes there now. I haven't been in forever. I distinctly remember eating at a Mexican Restaurant call "Del Frisco" or "Franciscos" every year. would have been 20+ years ago.

Why? Durango is a fine place to visit. I've been there a few times over the years on my bike when on long trips and the riding in the Rockies around it is fantastic. Plus, even in June the weather is going to be moderate at worst.

I grew up there! Carvers is a must for breakfast. Steam works is a good option. Make sure you go to serious Texas BBQ and get a Texas Taco. Ken and Sue’s is a great dinner spot

If you're looking to a grab a cocktail at a random spot while you're there, my ex-son-in-law bartends at the VFW Hall there.
