I'm paging through my new book, "Acadiana Table - Cajun and Creole Home Cooking from the Heart of Louisiana" by George Graham and he's going out of his way to tout this corner store in Opelousas called Duos Cajun Corner, which I've never heard of. I rarely pass through Opelousas so I was wondering if it's worth the drive as a destination just to check it out and make some purchases? Keep in mind that I'd be passing by Scott to get there. I'm guessing it doesn't hold a candle to the Cajun Meccas in Scott, but should I put it on my Louisiana bucket list?

I love Duos. Best hoghead cheese anywhere.

I'd skip Duos's, go through Plaisance, and drive in to Ville Platte.. Go to Teet's for a ponce and smoked sausage and Paul Fontenot's Meat Market for some cracklins.

You won't find better than that in Scott.
