Which brings me to my next observation; DD locations used to make their own donuts. I vividly remember seeing the huge mixing machine my hometown DD had in the back. When these new DD locations sell their donuts they order them from somewhere else and delivered. Ruins the donut but probably helps to cut down on waste.

This is interesting to read.

We recently got a DD down in Da Parish. After I gave them a couple of weeks to get the kinks out and the crowd down, i went on a Saturday morning. I asked for three different kinds of donuts (that were listed on their board) and was told the were out of all of them. i asked what they had and they said glaze and strawberry. I asked them for two glaze and one strawberry. They were awful - tasted about three days old.

I went again a couple of weeks later, and same thing, they were out of several varities of donuts, only had a couple in stock, and again, they all tasted days old.

Plus, the service was a step below Popeyes Quality.

I thought it would be odd that they would be out of so many types of donuts since a donut shop makes their own donuts... but if they don't make them in-house, then I can see that being an issue.

Also, the franchisee of ours is the same one in BR that is mentioned in the article.

had one open up in my town so i tried their donuts once, just once, and that was too much

someone told me no one talks much about the donuts but its the coffee that makes them great

a donut place that has bad donuts but "supposedly" good coffee then why arent they a coffee house instead?

In all fairness, the DD on bluebonnett is the worst food experience I have ever had in my life.

DD used to be legit back in the 80s & 90s. But then, like many companies, they sacrificed quality for the almighty dollar, opting to use mass-produced frozen donuts instead of freshly-made.

They don't even make anything all that good. They are like Wahataburger, an over hyped shitty chain.

And their customer service was worse than their donuts.

Yes, that location has been a AT&T Store for a good while.

That’s unnecessary. Seriously, act like an adult. Are you capable of doing that?

Dunking Donuts closed because it was a bad product and contrary to popular belief we have much better options.

This version of Dunkin Donuts is a bad product. There are better donut options in Baton Rouge and there are better coffee options in Baton Rouge. But Dunkin Donuts will always a spot in my heart.

The fast food applicant pool is so shitty in BR that you either automate everything or watch culcha ruin your business

I went to the one on Sherwood every morning & got hot chocolate or the dunkacinno.
They had the best customer service I’ve ever seen in a drive thru other than Chick Fil A.

The donuts are disgusting but IMO they have the best hot chocolate around.
I think I paid under 3.00 for a large, I’ve been paying 5.23 at Starbucks for a frapacinno.

I’m patiently waiting for the CC’s to open in Denham to have another option.

Their donuts suck arse compared to the selection we have locally that are made in-house. I don't like to see any business close it's doors but after one trip to DD on Sherwood when they first opened I knew it wouldn't last. There is just no market for DD in South Louisiana.

I truly don’t know what people’s obsession with it is up here. People in Boston act like it’s Gods gift to man. It’s terrible.

Well, do you get the Johnny’s Pizza obsession from the N Louisiana people? Sort of the same thing.

No, I don’t get that either.

Although at least Johnny’s isn’t a horrible product. DD is truly terrible.
