Other than Joe's, don't know that I've seen Dungeness on a menu in BR. Bought them at the grocery and cooked (warmed) them myself.

I’ve seen them in grocery stores, but never had one. Good?

Little ways out but Kevin’s on the diversion had boiled Dungeness clusters that were pretty good.

They are good. Sweet and large pieces of meat. The best I've had were on the west coast (fresh), including once in Dungeness, Washington before taking the ferry to Victoria. Albertson's usually has the crabs at times during the year, and we used to get them until we got bad ones once (smelled like ammonia). Haven't been brave enough to try them again

Joes might be the only place you can find them. And honestly, they are pretty good there. I haven't had them in years, but they had a BBQ seasoned one (not like bbq sauce) that was great.

I saw Creole Cabana was going to start to offer crabs, but I think they were snow or king.

Better than blues and you peel 1 crab for every 3 blue.

Better taste, bigger crabs, less work. Yeah, they're good.

Eta....obviously best when fresh.

Nice pic.
I have family in Seattle and it is so nice to go out in the boat and come back with some of those crabs and be eating them an hour later. If I remember correctly, the permit for locals is only like $5 or something like that.

Awesome feeling to be eating crabs outside in the summer with mountain views and no bugs biting you.

Puget Sound crabbing is a 5 buck license but that area is very restricted. When it is open it's 6 crab per person.

I pay 10 bucks for my annual shellfish license (crab, clams, skrimps/prawns) and I go crab the mouth of the Columbia river and keep 12 per person.

That view in the Puget Sound though....

Sammy's in Prairieville is now selling snow crab legs and boiled shrimp. Not sure how good they are, and they're pretty pricey.
