Do you fry turkeys for Thanksgiving/Christmas?

Just left Costco and noticed the price of peanut and frying oil has doubled since last year. For a family like mine that only fries 1 turkey, that's a pretty big jump. Might have to smoke it this year.

Jimmy Carter is crying. That was my attempt in making this PT worthy.

Inflation of household cooking products isn't PT worthy?

At this rate joe Biden will probably pardon a Toucan instead and grant it amnesty

Guess I'll have to go back to using lard

Used to exclusively fry in peanut oil. Then went to a greaseless fryer. Now I use my Pit Barrel Cooker. Homemade cajun injection, and it tastes the same using the first two methods. The PBC adds a little smoke and still gets the skin crispy.

Yes and if there is a good deal we’ll buy a few and fry them occasionally throughout the year.

1. inflation, it's real, everyone can see it but nobody will admit it.
2. Cooking a turkey whole is an awful way of preparation. Cut the damn thing up and cook it like it's supposed to be.

Do you fry anything else? You do know you can reuse the oil, right?

I know the oil can be reused, but we don't do much frying.

Interesting... So you own the equipment to fry but do not do much but fry one turkey per year?
You do know there are probably restaurants that will fry it for you...
