Well, they don’t line up to mine but they are entitled to theirs. Would take a lot for me to not go to either. Not triggered very easily. But if I see someone participating in cancel culture I am done.

Ave Pub can be hit or miss depending on what is going on but you know they can have strong tap lists. I am sure it will again.

Polly reporting other breweries and businesses to ABC then turning around and selling her overstock to a certain retail spot really turned me off. Such a hypocrite.

I have a problem with that hypocrisy and not with the act itself.

Then bullshitting her way through the craft beer market just to make a dollar.

I know a few people that have treaded lightly, but are willing to got to bat to protect their reputation. Especially against accusations he has no ability to defend.

She has annoyed the frick out of me during this pandemic. She kissed Latoya's arse throughout and just accepted that her place shouldn't be allowed to operate, etc.

Screw her. I deleted the pub today and may not be going back. Plenty of other places in the city to get good beer.

But she did operate her place until the state shut her down.

Then cried her arse off about it.

Funny this thread should pop up. I was literally having a convo with a coworker today about DD, and he worked there previously for a short time in a semi-management role. He basically said, "Yes." And then had some other horror stories about their food handling practices, but that's another matter entirely.

As for Polly, I frequented Ave Pub when it was the place to be for the best beer. It's not that anymore. It ceased to be that around 2016, 2017. I think the ubiquity of craft has hurt Polly's model more than her practices. I still stop in whenever I'm in the neighborhood because I genuinely like her as a person (I'm left, that's no shock, so shite on me accordingly), but I also know I'm just gonna order a Jucifer or something similar and bounce. More places that carry good beer now, some that are cheaper, and many that are closer/more convenient.

I don't doubt low wage earning personnel have a bad impression towards previous employment. Comes with the territory.

Don't care about Polly's politics, I think she is a bad person.

This was a good night.

LINK

Some may know I like bourbon and they usually have a good selection including BTAC which we actually had that night.

When you think Ave Pub was at its peak? I would say 2009-2012

I'd probably put it a little later. If we're using three years as the length, I'd say something like '12-'15 when the Venn Diagram of her pulling beer that nobody else in this market could overlapped with an emerging beer nerd subsection of the market that wanted to drink shite they couldn't get elsewhere. But that's only relevant if you're the type of beer nerd who gave/gives a shite about drinking the "rare" beer. I'd say nowadays she's pivoted more towards tapping niche/unique beer, and I don't know what her bottom line look like to say if that approach is the right one or not. But when it comes to Polly, I generally assume she's doing the right thing. She's shrewd, and I mean that in a complimentary way.

ETA: oh, but if you whine about her treatment of her employees, you're a turd. Polly goes above and beyond for them. I wish my employer cared as much about me as she does for her people. But I guess my industry more or less makes me expendable, so it is what it is.

What part of this do you think I care about? District donuts or breads on oak? Lmao

I’m fine with drawing attention to issues but he’s posting unsubstantiated stories from anonymous people. He’s also taking ‘donations’ for the cause thru pay apps. The whole thing wreaks of bullshite.
