I worked in a small grocery store when I was a kid. The store was near the black part of town, so we stocked a lot of salt pork, Schlitz Malt Liquor Bull, and other products that I was not used to seeing where we shopped.

Kaboom filled a huge section of the cereal aisle. I asked the owner why it was so popular, and she said it was on the list of products that could be bought with WIC.

Can’t eat sugary cereals now due to diabetes but I once loved:

1. Captain Crunch
2. King Vitamin
3. Sugar Smacks

When I was a kid, they had this cereal that tasted like it was a box of crunchy powdered doughnuts.

They should bring that one back.

Yep. Fruity Marshmallow Krispies. So damn good. Think I remember reading once it set the record for most added sugar in any cereal or something.

Now seeing what a portion is, I probably had 800-1000 calories of just sugar. Lol

Sometimes I'd drop some straight up extra sugar in mine, especially Frosted Flakes.

I only found this in the late 90s, but it was like crack. I could go through a box in a day.

This stuff was killer too. Pretty much Crispix except it was frosted on both sides.

We rarely ate cereal growing up. No reason why that I’m aware of. Maybe we didn’t like it as kids. I can’t think of a single cereal I miss. I remember eating the marshmallows in Lucky Charms at some point. I tried some cereals when I was older. I sort of like Grape Nuts.
