Place was all time great from when it opened to about 2020 and COVID. Moved to Arkansas and came back in 2023 and was struggling big time. Ingredients weren't as fresh and flavors were nowhere near what they were before I moved.

Is it permanently gone? Google says temporary but I pass by every day and the building has a new roof and is now painted green with a "Taqueria" sign. The Curry N Kabab sign is still up and showing near the street.

Classic example of a place that hindered itself. Mr. Khan the owner is a great guy but his archaic ordering method and lack of marketing was astonishingly bad. It's like you got penalized for wanting to order online or place a to go order on the phone. He could have had people lining up out of the door but he just continued to hinder himself.

Anyone know any news?

Al Noor is back on Coursey near Jones Creek. Now that place rocks and makes it easy for customers. I feel like they brought the death nail to Curry N Kabab. IMO the best Indian restaurant in BR at the moment and they have a buffet.

I completely agree with all of this. No idea if he closed, but would not be surprised. It was a chore to eat there.

I would go there periodically for lunch. 9 times out of 10, I was the only person in there. Don't know how they lasted as long as they did. Yes, Khan was nice and all, but hearing his same shtick every single time about their fresh ingredients and cooked to order meals got a bit old.

Google says temporarily closed a lot of the time for things that are obviously permanently closed.

I don't know about Curry N Kebab. I had Bay Leaf for dinner last night and it was good as always. I just wanted to point out something that may have been a typo or may be something that you (and many other people on this site) may not know:
quote:

death nail
The saying is "death knell" which is the tolling of a bell to mark someone's death. There's the similar saying "the final nail in the coffin" which has a similar meaning. Death nail is like a conflation of the two.

Before C N K there was a restaurant there called Cupid's, and man did it suck. I ducked in there on a very cold winter day for some gumbo to warm up. It was so cold outside that the employees were smoking cigarettes IN the restaurant and there was an active ashtray an arm's length at the table adjacent to me. The whole place smelled like arse and I couldn't wait to get out of there.

My son used to eat there very frequently, and got to know him quite well. He was asking patrons if they new of any spots in surrounding parishes that were available for leasing. I’m assuming he didn’t, or hasn’t found a more inexpensive option.

Curry & Kebab owner said he is searching (nationwide) for a new location. I’m surprised he survived on Coursey as long as he did. The place was rarely busy. It’s a shame, because he made several Indian dishes that were better than anything I’ve had anywhere else.
