Wife and I are about to board the plane to Denver for the weekend, and I was looking for some good local brews that I need to try. We are within walking distance of 3 breweries and it seems like a tap room is on every corner. Suggestions?

I don't know what kind of beers you like but these would be on my list.

Funkwerks
Crooked Stave
Odell
Grimm Brothers
Oskar Blues
Grist
Prost
Avery
and Falling Rock Taphouse

What I've had from that Codefan brewery has been good. Crooked Stave also.

Well that's a good start. I'm going to try and keep up with documenting my consumption but we'll see how that turns out.

A lot of the breweries are overrated in terms of their actual beer...so I would recommend a place like Falling Rock Tap House that has a variety of the best beer, Colorado and national

That said, my favorite Denver breweries are Epic and Great Divide. Prost has good German style beer if you like pilsners but their staff sucks so I refuse to go there anymore.

Favorite individual beers(all of these are Denver area brews):
Great Divide Yeti-stout
Epic Big Bad Baptist-stout
Oscar Blue Ten Fidy-stout
Avery Tweak(amazing...but very high abv)-bourbon barrel stout

Odd 13 Codename Superfan-IPA
Dry Dock IPA...so good
Station 26 Juicy Banger IPA

Declaration Brewing Pale Ale
Odell(Ft Collins) Drumroll

Bierstadt Slow Pour Pils

Dont skip going to Falling Rock...most likely they will have Pliny on tap as well as a host of other great beer...good bar food too.

Ive never been to Freshcraft but it has a great reputation for food and beer.

Friends took us to Colorado Plus first stop. They had flights from a ton of CO breweries. Then we went to them based upon that. I'd second Prost as a great stop for a brat and some German beers. Fresh craft is great downtown. Black Shirt, Wits End had some great stuff, and Crooked Stave is world class.

Hops and Pie was also a good place to eat and get some beers not available elsewhere.

I can't emphasize enough the need to drink a lot of water; most people get bad hangover after the first night. Seriously put a gallon of water by the bed and drink over the night when you roll over or go pee.

I tried Station 26 Juicy Banger after a long day of drinking, and it stood out as the best beer I had the whole trip.
