In my humble, uneducated N. Louisiana opinion, I'd call Notini's sandwiches poboys. The lettuce isn't shaved like normal poboys, but the bread is a crusty on the outside, soft & chewy on the inside french loaf, served warm.

I love the way the RB debris mixes with the shredded lettuce and mayo. Would like to try it though.
It's really similar with the exception that the shredded cabbage holds up the mayo and the gravy better. It maintains that crunch. I rarely eat a poboy with tomatoes. Just don't care for them on poboys. Love them on BLTs and I love a fresh tomato sandwich, but I don't want tomatoes on anything if they're not good tomatoes. Those pale pink things just aren't worth it.

blue cheese and roast beef? gross
I also do not enjoy po-boys with seafood on them. I will eat the hell out of a roast beef, hamburger, or ham and cheese po-boy though. I've just never liked seafood on a sandwich

Actually, there is no debate. It has been settled a few years back.
I contacted the ISO sandwich standardization group in Geneva Switzerland today. I had to call them with a technical question regarding the Slip-lock Adjustable Pliers. When I finished that inquiry, I asked about Po-Boys and Hoagies.
I was told all of these food products fall under ISO/TC-34
After 6 phone transfers 73 minutes on hold and a sweet recorded version of "Helga Milked the Goat" featuring the Swiss National yodeling team, I finally reached the FAQ office and quickly learned the international committee on Sandwich Standardization (ISO/TC 34 - 2006), all of the following are technically equivalent forms of the (ISO standard product designation) "Submarine Sandwich":
Hoagie
Hero
Grinder
Barb Mill
Blimpie
Cosmo
Filled Roll
Baguette
Gatsby
Gondola
Italian Sandwich
Panino
Poor boy
Po' Boy
Rocket
Sous-marin
Spuckie
spucadella
Torpedo
Tunnel
Wedge
Zeppelin
Zep
I may have missed a few. I was taking notes as fast as I could write and I declined purchase of the ISO/TC 34 Standard @ $27.85 available (for those interested) from ISO Standards Documentation Center at the address below:

You're Welcome
By the way, did you guys know emoticons are covered by an ISO computer graphics standard?

That's no po boy.
ETA: That's what you ate?

Nothing in that pic looks very good.
And is that a beer or tea with a lemon and orange?
Posted on 1/22/15 at 12:23 pm to 12Pence
if THAT is what the OP ate and he has the nerve to say it's the only good poboy he's ever had, he should have his board posting privileges revoked permanently.

It's like the restaurant isn't even trying...
It seriously looks like they took that slimy, sweaty Oscar Mayer packaged ham and put a few Kraft singles in there and called it a day. And that salad....it's just lettuce straight out of a Dole bag with a few tomato chunks on top. Oh yeah...and wavy Lays potato chips.

I'm not being mean or exaggerating one tiny bit when I say if you removed the salad, garlic bread and tea then that is exactly what my 6 yr old daughter would make if I told her to make a ham sandwich and potato chips for her lunch.
"Dad! We're out of sliced bread!" "Use the leftover french bread"
Voila

Well, the RB Poboy I ate the last time I was there was at least toasted.
That does not look all that great to me, but their pizza/spaghetti is actually not bad.
And to whoever was asking, that's their mint spiced tea, which is

Just yet another example of a place trying to cash in on the NOLA culture.

Sandwich, hoagie, poor boy, grinder, wedge. I've heard them all.

This kind of Nola snobbery is what pisses me off the most. News flash....the rest of the state doesn't want to be you, cook like you, or act like you do.

TigerWise is joking, he just likes saying shite like that to get a rise out of people
