This.
Poor Boy and Po Boy are both acceptable. Jesus, people can find the craziest things to argue over. If you want authentic poor boys then you should be using only scraps of what was left over at the end of the day at the restaurant because that's how it started.

Here is a little tip for you.... You can order a po-boy that is not full of fried stuff. You can also get them to hold the lettuce.

But damn, I loves me a fried shrimp po-boy as much as I like a roast beef. And if you are eating your pretend po-boy on crap bread, I can see why you don't like them.

I wanted to put in my will to have me buried with a Parway surf and turf in my hand.

I said it was the first one I've had worth eating. I have tried several others, and they were disgusting. Greasy fried oysters on hard arse dry bread with a bunch of lettuce shavings is not my idea of a good sandwich.

ETA: I have considered that I might need to try some South Louisiana po boys. I had a Herby K's, however, and I didn't like it.

I dig that shrimp thing they do. Is that what you're talking about? I don't think I'd call it a poboy (or poor boy) either, though.

He was talking about Monroe. The Mohawk Tavern has an excellent one.

I love the Mohawk - but I'm not going to eat a Po Boy there.

On a good poboy, the fried food is not greasy. I don't get lettuce on my fried seafood poboys. That's my thing. I like cabbage on roast beef poboys or I don't get them dressed. The bread is never dry. It's not soft hoagie type bread either. It's light and crisp.

I don't call them poor boys. I prefer the nickname.

Bevi got some good food. If poboys aren't your thing might order some other items too.

A roast beef po boy with cabbage actually sounds pretty good.

It is. It's too bad more places don't use that as their standard on dressing one.

I love me some cabbage but I'm not sure I would prefer it on my RB. I love the way the RB debris mixes with the shredded lettuce and mayo. Would like to try it though.

Notino's in Bossier City served a "po boy" at lunch - ham, provolone cheese, soft bread and nothing else. I liked it. I generally hate po boys because I don't like sandwiches with nasty fried food on them and all the crappy lettuce that overloads most po boys.

Business partner says "that is a hoagie not a po boy." I disagree. I say I found the first po boy worth eating.
