I agree that Four Corners has mostly standard beers, but sometimes they'll have something special on tap. I recommended Trinity Groves because I was under the assumption that OP was looking for things to do for one day. That's just an area that gives you options, though you are right that they aren't top of the line. It looks like I just made that up though and if he has time to explore, I'd say go to Lower Greenville and Deep Ellum for sure.
I also agree that Blind Butcher, The Libertine, and Goodfriend don't always have an amazing selection of beer, but the food is good enough that your standard craft beers will do IMO.
Zappas knows Dallas very well though. I've taken his recommendations before and been more than pleased.

Blind butcher has to be the most overrated place in the city. The food is absurdly over priced and so average. But I do enjoy the liter of kolsch for $10 every once in awhile.

Garland is kinda ghetto. A guy I know had an armed black guy jump in his car and made him go to a few different ATMs to clear his bank account out a couple weeks ago.
Stay in Dallas, it's closer to everything and uber surge pricing is a bitch if you're going that far.

OK. He ended up at the LaQuinta Inn that appears to be right on top of a place called The Old Monk. Other places nearby to the east are Strangeways, Libertine Bar, and Dallas Beer Kitchen. To the west, Katy Trail Icehouse, Meddlesome Moth, The Gingerman, and the Alcove.
Where does he go on a Monday night in that general area? He'll be rolling into down in about 2 hours.

Great location. He's right in the middle of a fun area. I don't go out on Mondays ever, so I'm not sure if anybody has anything special going on. I'll let someone else chime in there.
He should be just a few minute car ride away from Lower Greenville though where he can find some fun bars and good food all within walking distance of each other. Or he could probably walk to quite a few places from his hotel if he felt inclined to do so.

I live right by this place. It's technically a wine bar and the crowd is usually really good. In the same neighborhood is State and Allen (1/2 pizza on Mondays) Nodding Donkey (.50 wings on Mondays), and City Council (best wings I've had in Dallas).
I would also recommend Cane Rosso or Twisted Root, both are in Deep Ellum right across from each other. Angry Dog has a fantastic burger right down the street.

Yea, the one at SMU Blvd is gone but Uptown is still kickin. Hope so too as that's my go to spot during football season. I can stumble home after Georgia disappoints me for the umpteenth time.

My wife liked the one by SMU but I never made it in there. I would always hop over to Torchy's when I was in that area. Might have to give it a shot if I'm ever looking to watch a game uptown.
