They can't call it 'Nutrition Facts' because it's not part of that FDA program, but Diageo has gone where no alcoholic beverage has gone before. As announced Tuesday, Diageo has begun to ship cases of Crown Royal that include what they're calling 'macro-nutritional information' on the product. It's the first time an alcoholic beverage brand has included a serving facts panel on its packaging. The panel details serving size, number of servings per container, alcohol by volume, number of calories and grams of carbohydrates, protein and fat per serving. It also includes the U.S. Dietary Guidelines definition of a standard drink, which is 0.6 fluid ounces of alcohol.

Very interesting. I don't know if I want to be reminded how many calories are in liquor. Crown might have less since it's only about 30% whiskey (which is higher calorie than vodka), and the rest of Crown is vodka.

Crown Royal, like Seagram's Seven is a blended whiskey. Where they take some straight whiskey, and add GNS (grain neutral spirits). GNS is vodka. They do this to save money because it cost a lot of money to age whiskey, and not much to make GNS which is unaged. They also add a little water.

Yeah, but your percentages are way off, it's not only 30% whisky.

Louisianians love them some crown royal. That and blue bell ice cream. It's odd.

Crown Royal = Horse piss. However it is popular in ghettos and redneck and trailer trash neighborhoods.

So is Jack and Makers.

Crown Royal is much smoother and easier to drink than Bourbon.

Not 0.6 oz of liquor. It's 0.6 oz of pure alcohol.

That amount of alcohol may be present in a glass of wine, beer, etc. LINK
