CRISPY CATCH – The former Kean’s Dry Cleaning building near the Perkins Road overpass isn’t going to be a new Tony’s Seafood. Rather, it will be a fast-casual restaurant from some of the members of the same family. The menu includes fried fish, boudin “poppers” and fish tacos. This is sure to be the next best thing in the overpass area. With a limited menu, it looks like the owners are positioning themselves to become the next Raising Cane’s.

So like Captain Ds or Long John Silver, but with boudin balls?

Interesting concept. I'm curious to see if it works.

Agreed. Good Louisiana fried fish, fish tacos, and boudin poppers on the go sound way better than Raisin Canes.

Anyone know if this is close to opening? Website is up and running, but doesn't say when it opens.

Drive by every day... I'd say they are still several weeks away, if not a month.

Add it to the list of restaurants in BR that can't open on time but sure are on time with their press releases.

Well I guess I'll never go. Give me a mini seafood market so I don't have to drive across the earth.

So catfish strips, boudin poppers and catfish strips in a tortilla. Is this the Cane's of fish?

Round trip to go to Tony's is around an hour. Not worth the drive

I live in LSU area. Takes me ~20-30 minutes to get to Tony's depending on traffic. 20 if the road is empty, 30 if you have to deal with College Drive/Acadian/Perkins/etc. bullshite. Jones lives 1.8 miles from me.

Just typing it in a map shows 24 minutes from my address in IDEAL traffic conditions.

Sure, the exit might only be 10 minutes from entry onto the interstate, but I think what Jones is saying is that after wasting 10-15 minutes getting to the interstate, it would be nice to have a seafood market on these city streets.

Looks like it. That happened fast at the end... they were still doing some work yesterday but I saw some people eating and the open sign was lit up.

Back in the good ole days, we had Acadian Seafood, whipper snapper.

So I've heard from a few friends that it's nothing special. The only menu items are catfish, catfish tacos, boudin balls, and boudin poppers. No thanks
