I've never been for lunch, but they have some really good reasonably priced breakfast.

Their fried catfish is good. I've been many times but that's all I've ever gotten. It's relatively close to the office and when I'm in the mood for catfish I head there.

Just your typical home cooking plate lunch kinda place. Nothing is out of this world but nothing is bad, if ya know what I mean. Bunch of old white folks in there usually. Haven’t been for breakfast but I need to.

I know this, OLD people love it. And the owner weighs probably 500 pounds.

Is this part of the family that used to own the one in Denham?
I used to eat at the original as a kid and remember the catfish being very good. Of course that was a long arse time ago and there wasn't anything worth a damn to compare it to.

The old man would come around telling all his stupid jokes. Then I think he passed on and they moved to where Don's is now and it went downhill.

Ended up going for lunch today, and this was spot on. Dated place, packed with retirees. Catfish, green beans, and corn fritters were solid. Service was good. If it was a small town I'd go back, but BR is so many good options I can't see myself going out of my way to return.

That’s the place. I think the son’s own it now and they don’t tell any jokes. Catfish is still the same.

It's the same family. His son runs this one.

The catfish was always good at the one in Denham.. I think the dad passed away a few years ago. Glad to see they are still in business.

Is extremely nice.

We go there every once in a while. ESP during lent. It’s nice and quiet. When my family goes there, we’re the young folks in there.

I wanna say the all you can eat c-fish is like $13. And with that you get all the gumbo and ettoufee that you want.

Food is ok, the average age of the clientele is deceased, they don't have servers, they have pallbearers. The reason I emphasize this is that generally means bland food, older people don't generally like well seasoned food.

The place looks stuck in the late 80’s

Went this morning for breakfast for the first time. I was actually impressed, when I ordered a country fried steak breakfast and it wasn’t a frozen patty. I thought it was pretty good. Eggs were edible, grits were good, toast not burnt. Wasn’t crowded, a little bright with the sun coming in the windows and hitting the mirrors on the wall. The S.O. Had the pancakes and she liked them. I had a bite and they didn’t seem to be any kind of premix B.S.

Not out of this world , but Will go back. Very nice, and friendly ladies were working.
