I am starting to crave some crawfish. How is the size right now?

Went to Feezo's Monday night. Crawfish were on the small size. They were good though, just mostly small.

Ate at Crawfish Time on Verot last night and they were mostly small.
Delicious as usual(I got them spicy) and very easy to peel, but small, with a few mediums mixed in.
It's the state of the season right now and I can't fault them for that.

Yes, we need more days like today for the crawfish to be active and grow. It happens quick though.

Someone in the Breaux Bridge area suggested to me that they were catching alot of mediums, if not mostly nice sized mediums. Not having spoken to anyone else in the broader Acadiana area to know how everyone else was doing, I was a little dissappointed to get so many smalls yesterday. But I got over it. The price was high though....36.99 for a 5 lb order.
Bigger and cheaper is coming.

Crawfish Boss last weekend had small ones. As others have said, they were tasty, but it was still disappointing.

Seriously? Its February after a January of 2 weeks of on and off below freezing temperatures.
Some of the responses here are mind-boggling.
Folks gotta realize the longest hard freeze we have had in recent history just occurred 2 weeks ago. If you are ordering crawfish in these conditions, you should expect small crawfish. Thus, not be “disappointed.”
We laugh at excuses every year, but I-10 doesnt close for a week every winter from being frozen.

I bought 2 sacks on Saturday from Hanks, one sack was all small, the other sack was very nice, medium crawfish. Not quite sure why the disparity between 2 sacks but I expected them all to be small. $3.75/lb live though.

Had some at Crawfish Time on Verrot last Sunday. Small but a few mediums mixed in. 5 lbs were $35.95

It's a long story going back a few years. We did some work together and well, forget it. I don't want to get into it.
