You have a better chance of getting shot than getting Crawfish under $6.00 a lb.

NOLA is the only place I know where people eat crawfish cold.

You people bitch too much. I can do a boil with all fixings and beer for 150$ right now. You can’t take the family out to eat for that

No crawfish in New Orleans are out of this world. Probably the weakest crawfish game in the whole state.
True. They’re always on the small side and usually a little dirty.
Best ones come from west Louisiana ponds and the Atchafalaya basin. Bigger and cleaner product.

I lost my shite when I saw them people dump all the seasoning on top of already boiled crawfish. Worst fricking crawfish I’ve ever had.

RNO in Metairie on the Lakefront is usually where we find them when we go home. Most people chiming in on here can likely get them any day of the week. I feel your pain, I am willing to pay a little extra since I don't get them often enough in Georgia.

2 weeks ago bought them at the Airline Dr. WD in Metairie. Great size for this time of the year @ $4/lb. Rouses week before $5 lb and very small and mushy. Last week Rouses were $4.79/lb, small but not mushy and seasoned well.

They don’t but he is right on the quality of the actual crawfish not the cooking style
Until the basin really kicks in which isn’t until at least April Nola and the east side of the state get a lesser product than the Acadiana area, and Houston area

Between Houston, Lake Charles, Lafayette, Baton Rouge and the surrounds the best product gets bought up before it can get to NOLA. The sellers and drivers have no need to add an extra 4+ hours to their route. Wastes time , gas and money when they can easily sellout faster in less time going back and forth from the source.
Crawfish in NOLA area are always a little smaller and dirtier. Think it has to do with brackish water and muddier water in where the crawfish are caught.
Keep telling yourself NOLA’s crawdads are the best though.
