Try Bellue's on Scenic Hwy. Their stuff is normally pretty good.

Make sure it's the Cajun version with stuffed heads or boulettes and not the French version which is usually pureed with cream. It's not that easy to find.

Don's Seafood downtown Lafayette has a good one, but I don't know if the BR Don's makes it or not. It's not cheap. You might have better luck checking the Lafayette area if you're driving that way to Texas.

Prejean's was good years ago, but it's been a long time since I've had it.

I always enjoyed the bisque at Pat's in Henderson and used to stop and buy theirs, but I haven't driven that way in a long time.

Maybe call some caterers.

Agree Dons downtown LFT and will add PoBoys Riverside Inn and Joeys. We add a lb of tails just before serving or make some bo in LFT.
Consider Karys Bisque Mix. We really like it and the simplicity. Add a lb of tails just before serving or make some boulettes.

Pat's crawfish bisque is one of the best things I ever ate.

I saw in the Elsie's thread, someone complaining that it was this Cajun version. Crazy. However, I have not tried theirs yet.

The Francis in St. Francisville has the Cajun version if you're ever out that way, OP.

Hymel's in Convent has good old school bisque. Get on river road by the Sunshine Bridge and turn left. It's on the left a couple of miles down. Old gas station converted into bar and restaurant.

Tried this place for the first time yesterday. Bisque was delicious! Thick roux based gravy with plentiful tails in gravy and stuffed heads. I got a cup of bisque with a half sandwich for $11.

They also serve larger amounts of bisque in regular or bread bowls, and sell containers of frozen bisque.

Yes. Address is 715 Europe Street in Beauregard Town neighborhood behind McDonalds and WAFB. Website appears to be down, but here is link to Yelp listing:

If you are coming through Lafayette on you way, stop at Fezzos in Scott. Call ahead.

The Palace Cafe' in downtown Opelousas, on Hwy 190 right across from the courthouse, used to have good dark bisque with stuffed shells.

I haven't been in a couple years, but a friend told me it had changed hands or had new management, and it was awful the last time they stopped.

Any recent field reports?

Thanks for the information.

I found a picture of the bisque or half eaten bisque.

I think I remember reading about that. Aren't there still family members running the place?
