Covington/Mandeville suggestions vs Ruth’s Chris

I was going to purchase a gift card for daughter and son-in-law to Ruth’s Chris bc my daughter enjoys their steaks. But is there anywhere on northshore that can be recommended to avoid a drive to south shore and may be better? Thanks.

More casual but Gallaghers or Keith Youngs are both great

I have had both and for me personally, the steak at Gallaghers is a better option.
Also, Desi Vegas Covington does really well with steaks, very nice atmosphere.

Tchefunctes also has a good steak among other things but is $$$

IMO, Desi Vega's and Keith Youngs are better than Gallaghers but some disagree.

Atmosphere is decent, but their steaks are highly inconsistent. Plus their sides and apps are mostly garbage. I've been a few times, and I eventually decided I'm done with that joint. Inconsistency is the worst quality of an expensive restaurant.
Gallaghers is the best steakhouse in the area. Stick with that

I agree the sides are not up to the same caliber as Gallaghers, but fortunately, have not had a bad steak there.

Last steak I had at Gallagher's was way too salty. But I have had great ones there.

Only thing I miss from Louisiana is Gallaghers.
