The Super Bowl in early 2025 was a huge economic boost & creates an outlier compared to other years. It brought prob 10-20% of the city’s overall tourism dollars for the year

Sorry to hear that. It was one of my favorites uptown. I always enjoyed the food and atmosphere.
I will miss it, but there is always La Petite Grocery.

Covid absolutely obliterated the tourism and convention industry here.

Wasn’t just New Orleans. This is the case for a lot of cities.

Fantastic meal last night. Had
- coquette bread
- whipped feta
- Higgins crab dip
- tuna crudo
- marinated cucumber
- chicken schnitzel
- grilled pompano
- smoked beef short rib
- chamomile rice pudding
- strawberries and cream

Standouts were the bread, whipped feta, crab dip, chicken schnitzel, and short rib. Yall try to get in while yall can.

Edit: forgot we were sent the gala melon gazpacho and beef tartare muffuletta. Both excellent as well. Had like 90% of the menu

The NOLA restaurant market is not "bad" in the sense that there are no diners. It is hyper competitive though. Your food has to be extremely good to survive. 18 years for Coquette is a great run. Few restaurants survive that long, even good ones.

Also the three nights of sold out Taylor Swift concerts brought in people from all over the world.

From everything I heard, that was head and shoulders above the Super Bowl on the overall board food and beverage business end of the city.

For better or worse (although, it certainly seems for the worst for the host city generally speaking), the current NFL event model now basically cuts so much of that out.

That was the general feedback. A large number of the attendees and events bring in big time catering services and have private events that leave out local businesses.

Downtown was pretty packed for the Super Bowl but the rest the city was like a Saints weekend in many cases.

Truth. So many private events and all focused in the warehouse district or CBD primarily.

Bread service. Pretty common at nicer restaurants.

I haven’t been in a couple of years but their bread and butter was always so damn good. Had some great meals at that restaurant. Gonna be sad to see it go.
