I do, but it doesn't matter.

I wash the rice by putting it in container, fill in some with water, and pour the water outs. I do it 3x and it takes 20 seconds. I want to avoid the bugs that randomly pop up every now and then.

If I'm boiling it like I normally do, no. If I cook it with some chicken stock in a pot covered yes.

Pretty much this. Rice grains, when handled rub against one another and makes fine rice flour or dust. That's starch you can rinse out. For a jambalaya or in a recipe like porcupine meatballs, I don't rinse.

I rinse rice at least 3x, until the water is clear.

Rinse 3 times then it is clear.

I find it tastes better and if there are bugs in the rice, you get them buggers out.

Washing rice is mostly a cultural thing linked to times and places where processed rice had/has some residual chaff, bran weevils and starchy dust. In Japan they used to add talcum powder to dry rice to give it an appealing feel and look. That definitely needed to be washed out. US processed rice is quite clean unless weevils have gotten in it in your pantry.

Washing off surface starch has the most beneficial impact on delicate long-grain varieties like basmati.

The bugs contain the nutrients

Rinse.

It matters.

I’m not worried about bugs. But I like my rice to separate. It tastes the same but I prefer the textures and separation of rinsed rice.

That said there’s a time and place for sticky rice.
