Be honest, no BS. I'm trying to get better at this.

Hard to say, but the outside looks over done. Can you give some more info on what you did?

I think you shouldn't seek validation from strangers on the internet, and no quality of fried turkey will make your family not disappointed in you.

Looks good. Maybe turn the temp down a bit but as long as the meat is moist, that's all you want.

So these last 6 Thanksgiving and Christmas meals have been a waste? Now what?

Looks good to me. I'm smoking my first one now, have about 30 minutes left. Afraid to look.

How are we supposed to really know unless we taste it?

I'm confused. You mean six total, like three of each, or six for each holiday and like twelve total turkeys?

If it's not dry it's good. Smoked is the way to go though. IMO

Is it moist because it looks dry to me but the pictures aren't exactly focused.

As long as your guests and family enjoyed it you did good.

Looks a bit burned. The color of the entire turkey should be the same as the lighter spots. And there should be no black. Either fire was too hot or you left it in to long. But fret not, they get easier each time you do them. Hardest part is maintaining oil temp so it's not spiking up or down.
