I love real wholesome, hearty (aka fattening) meals for cold weather.

-Lasagna
-Chili
-Shepherd's Pie
-Banger's and Mash
-Gumbo
-Grilled cheese and tomato soup
-Chicken pot pie
-Meat loaf
-Chicken and dumplings
-Potato soup

Made lentil and andouille soup tonight. Reminiscent of the lentil soup from Carrabbas.

Try the white cheddar sometime. It will surprise you. Sausage on the side is rat with it. A skewer of slices is nice.

23 degrees in north La. this morning and I'm making a big pot of my beef stew today. We'll put the leftovers in the freezer and they will be used the rest of the winter if they last that long. Beef stew is like gumbo and chili, better when reheated out of the freezer. I use the same recipe when I have a venison roast I can cut into stew sized pieces. Wonderful!

Vegetable soup with winter vegetables and I'll add penne to it

this soup

Chicken Noodle Soup

Chicken and Dumplings

I always end up making a cobbler/crisp/crumble type dish on cold nights too

I need to add crab and corn bisque to the list too, it's possibly one of my most favorite things to eat int he world
