It definitely started out as a BBQ restaurant. The name and logo are now currently part of their identity crisis.

I say I’d rather go to Chili’s or Applebee’s next time before going here again.

We went to Chili's the other day. Had Shrimp tacos with free chips and salsa for $10.00. Chili's has by far the best chips around and the tacos were excellent.

Their burger with unlimited chips and salsa and free refill non-alcoholic drinks for $11.00 was great too. If you join their bug you on email club you get free chips and salsa every time you go.

Not a bad payoff for hitting the email delete key once a day.

Walked out the door full and satisfied for $25.00. It was lunch while out running errands. Hard to beat that.

Back in my younger days, I worked at both Chili’s and Applebee’s. I do have to say that Chili’s had much better food.
I am talking 20-30 years ago.
Applebee’s was one of my least favorite places to work ever.
When I worked at Chili’s, BR only had one (College Dr). We would have an hour wait on weekends. This was before they changed their business plan, and grew to what they are now, a 6 page menu restaurant.
Outback was the same. There was only one in BR, they stayed busy as shite, and it was good. They too went with the game plan Chili’s did.

A condescending prick such as yourself should be able to follow the thread and understand why I posted that.

No kids. My kids are older than most here. No great grandkids yet. Great grandkids might apply to me in three or four years, if I am still alive then. Some mornings I feel like that's a push. Then I drink a cup of coffee and think I have another day in me. We'll see. Here is wisdom for you guys, "It is what it is".

Is this a Chili's thread now?

I have just accepted the fact that if my wife and I want to go to dinner and order an app, entree and drink each its going to cost $100 at least. Not happy about it, but that is just the world we live in now. Am I pleased with every meal, no, but are those just my choices or on restaurant? I dont think it is fair to come here and bash CP because you were not happy with what you ordered. They have plenty of food that is worth the price.

I've heard from several people that the Highland location of CP isn't very great compared to Jefferson, but I've never been so I don't know. I like Jefferson's location a lot. I've never ordered BBQ type items though.

I think OP just lost everyone with the boomer exclamation marks and over the top hyperbole regarding the food. Thread probably would have gone differently had he not written it in angry Grandpa style.

Let’s see, you said “majority” of the menu is not smoked or BBQ.
If you take away the salads, there are 27 menu items, 16 of which contain a smoked or bbq meat. A few of their salads contain house-smoked meats, and all their Charcuterie boards have house-smoked meats.
Your need to learn what majority means.

Nope. Regardless, excluding sides and desserts, only 19 of their 45 menu items consist of anything related to BBQ, and that's being generous with a handful of them.

So, they are not majority BBQ items, they don't label themselves as a BBQ joint. OP and you suck balls. Good chat.

Can we agree that it is sor'ta dumb to pay $100 for a meal for two at a place that has the word "Pig" in their name. My biggest expectation in places with Pig as a part of their commercial identity is that you can get an extra paper napkin if you ask politely.

Getting a good plastic fork and your salt and pepper is a shaker instead of those tear the corner off paper packages would be nice, too.

I guess if Pig is the owner's last name would be acceptable.

"Mr. Pig's French Winery and Bistro" I like it!

19 out of 45 isn't a majority. You don't know how to count, and you ignore things that don't help your argument,

Sorry, I give restaurants one chance, it better be good. There’s way too many restaurants in BR, to give a restaurant a second chance, when the first meal was worse than subpar.

Where are you getting 45? I count 27 items on the app/entree/sandwich menu sections. 16 of which contain a smoked or bbq meat.
They have salads. I’m not counting them, but a few have smoked meats.
All the meats on the charcuterie boards are house smoked.

Giving restaurants one chance is a terrible way to live. Understandable if you don't have the desire to go back, but writing them off for good is a bit much. Management changes, cooks change, staff changes, menu changes, etc.

Like I said, ignore everything onthe menu that doesn't help your argument. And no, not all the meats on the charcuterie are smoked. Did you miss these?

Dry Cured: Bresaola | Spicy Coppa | Prosciutto di Parma | Coarse Grain Salami | Speck | Rosette de Lyon

BTW, here is how you get to 45. I'd have thought garage sale goon would be able to do simple math, but it is what it is.

Apps 8
Mains 9
Salads 8
Sandwiches 10
Charcuterie 10 (types of meat you can select, didn't even count the cheeses as that would have made the percentage even worse for you)
Oysters 4

Of those 45 items, only 19 involve BBQ is any way.

You could be right, but I do remember going to the other two locations (one time each), and remembering I wasn’t that impressed with them. It wasn’t bad, just not great.
My favorite casual dining restaurant in BR is Elsie’s. The first time I went, I was dumbfounded at how good it was. I’ve been back several times. It’s always very good.
