Christmas Beers
Seem to be in short supply on tap around here. Bulldog only has Shiner Cheer (which is good). What gives?

re: Christmas Beers
Bell's Christmas Ale is pretty good. It's a scotch ale. I enjoy those every now and then. Think i may drink a backwoods bastard tonight. Does 1 beer and antibiotics mess everythign up?

Bell's tastes okay but the head disappears really fast. It's pretty thin. I like that it's not too Scotchy but I wish it had more body.

Sierra Nevada Celebration might be my favorite just because it's consistent and reliable and tastes great. I've never been dissatisfied.

St Bernardus is the only one I drink,......although I will drink a few Full Sail Wassail. Its way better than Celebration IMO.

Samichlaus
ratebeer.com
quote:

The once strongest beer in the world is back ! Brewed only once a year on December 6. Samichlaus is aged for 10 months before bottling. This beer is perhaps the rarest in the world. Samichlaus may be aged for many years to come. Older vintages become more complex with a creamy warming finish. Serve with hardy robust dishes and desserts, particulary with chocolates, or as an after dinner drink by itself.

Yeah, that is a bit of an overstatement.

I pulled the quote from a beer review and corrected my post to show it as a quote. Although, it is rare and may be difficult to find depending on where you live.

I always enjoy Highland Cold Mountain around this time of year. I used to also enjoy Straight to Ale Cabernet Laika, but I haven't seen it around this year, but I admittedly haven't been looking all that hard. SN Celebration and Anchor Christmas are good ones as far as nationally distributed go.

New Belgium Accumulation as someone mentioned already. Always consider Goose Island Barrel series as Christmas/Holiday beer since is only brewed in November. Always look forward to BCBS
