What’s up food board, I have been bored during my time at home during this pandemic and started recording some of my cooking.
I started a YouTube channel and made a video for my chicken and sausage gumbo. Check it out if it interests you.

You did great for your first video. What camera did you use?

iPhone XS with a gimbal borrowed from a friend.
Also sex gumbo was exactly what I was going for.

Doesn't your chicken breast meat get awfully dry and chewy after 2 hours of simmering? I think thigh meat would serve you better.
And how come you didn't brown the sausage? That would have added a bit more flavor.
At any rate, IWE that gumbo.

Gumbo needs chicken thighs first and foremost. I Brown or fry both my chicken and sausage before hand. Makes the gumbo even better. Tasso is a must as well otherwise good job

I respect your method but that’s a few more steps than I like

You made a very unnecessary mess spooning it into the bowl

I asked the OP if rice was served with his gumbo. He replied that it was cooked and served later and I gave him an upvote.

Explain your roux technique please.

The final product is all that matters...It looks great..
One tip cook your sausage in the oven while you are cooking your roux. That cooks off the grease so you don't have to skim it off..

Great job. The gumbo looks damned good.
Tip: Avoid spills by using a ladle to serve.
The video is well edited. It gets across the essential info without wasting time. Good use of FF too.
One of my biggest gripes is a video where the maker prattles on forever and does not edit. "Uh, gumbo is something people in Louisiana eat. My grandma ... blah blah. First, you make a roux. Watch me stir it for about 30 minutes. zzzzz."
