Went today for lunch.

They were out of 2 of 3 lunch specials, as well as sweet potato fries and red beans.

Weird ambiance but the food was solid.

I had the chicken sandwich, others at the table got chicken fried steak on garlic mashed potatoes.

It was, and before that it was actually a Persian restaurant that lasted about a month, and was top 2 worst eating experiences of my life.

That building has seen a myriad of restaurant names displayed in the front. I recall: Sam Dagastino's, The Exchequer (a DiVincinti group place?), Kenny Carr's place, City Pork.

You're thinking of the wrong building, this one is on Merchant St. around the corner from that one on Exchequer.

Well we called to go to lunch, and Chef Charles is moving off of Bluebonnet

Unfortunately that means I didn't get my bread pudding for Christmas

Are you asking if I'm black because I can assure you I'm not black

About the only things we have in common is that we're both fat guys and like good food.

ETA: I was simply impressed by the quality of the food that I got from a restaurant in Baton Rouge. I found it equally odd that none of us here had ever been.

Thanks for the info. I’m assuming it’s that spot on the end, closest to Bluebonnet. I hope they succeed there, where others have failed.

Stopped in today for lunch. Fried chicken with mashed potatoes and a tasso white gravy.

I won't be getting much done for the rest of the day.

It appears the menus has expanded a bit. Typos and odd descriptions included.

Food was still outstanding though. Really hope this guy makes it here.
