Champagne - how long at room temp?

I was helping clean my father’s house and found a very expensive bottle of champagne that’s been sitting at room temperature for what I am guessing is probably 7-8 years. Is it still drinkable, and if so, will the taste be altered much?
I’ve done some simple google searches and getting info across the spectrum. Any wine experts have thoughts they care to share?

Try it and see.
Assume it is good. If not, dump it.

Two factors that will be a bigger deal are light and how it’s stored.
Any direct sunlight?
Stored on its side or upright?
Dark place and on its side it might be fine. Not fresh, but ok. Light or upright the whole time could be an issue

It’s been upright and sitting on a built-in bookcase in a room without direct sunlight but with normal overhead lights that are on most of the day.
I suppose only one way to find out like the poster above said.

Completely different than storing wine. The main thing to be worried about is whether or not the carbonation maintained.

Vintage champagne (does it have a vintage year on the label) can be aged for years, but it needs to be stored correctly. Like mentioned, open and see.

What champagne house? Vintage?
Only two options. It’s either bad or good. And only one way to find out. Park it in a fridge for a week or so. Then let it sit out for about 20 minutes. Open her up and let it rip.

Louis Roederer Cristal 2018. Dropped it in the fridge and planning to try it out on Friday.
I do have a good reason to pop it open and celebrate. Got promoted last week.

Decent chance it’s ok. Not a big Cristal fan but it’s not that old and light and heat didn’t kill it. Upright isn’t great but you should be ok. Enjoy!
(Get a backup bottle of regular Roederer, France not Cali, in case)
