I wouldn't skip on Steins because of his politics, Charlie's because of the new owners politics, Toups cracklins, or Blue Oak because they posted a black square months ago.

Would be missing out on some good food and Blue Oak's serviceable bbq.

It doesn't bother me anymore than seeing a long line at register 1 so I go to register 2. Way too many options for just about everything to support someone who is in my face about not wanting my business.

but I do think it would be weird and exhausting if you go out of your way to figure out which places you agree with politically and only frequent those.

Agreed. My MIL is like this and constantly contradicts herself without realizing it.

of course. I don't think a black square is to the level of others who bring politics into their business and try to shove it down your throat.

Unless they are giving a lecture during the dinner course you are somewhat actively seeking out their opinion.

Quit following them on social media would be a good first step to prevent it from getting "shoved down your throat." Had to do that to a few places that became to preachy.

I'd rather see people for who they are than be blinded by a shiny , delicious plate.

I just want good food. I'm not worried about being friends to get the good stuff in the back.

If we lived in baton Rouge I'd be more likely to take that advice.

I get this. I don't mind a BLM sign and knowing someone is liberal, etc.
Your boy at Carrolton Market has Alton Sterling and Michael Brown pictures up so he deserves to be fcked with.

Things like this Carrollton Market guy, and Chef Garcia the other day... I would never know unless it popped up on here. And I would never know if I was just going to eat at their restaurants.

You know who else has the MOST FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT to speak their mind?

The dude trying to sink his business.

Who is stopping him from speaking his mind?

Speaking your mind has consequences. The first amendment doesn't protect you from pissing off potential customers.

I searched but I didn’t see where the chef disagreed with the customer having the right to speak freely. The chef’s personal email is on the restaurant website, I don’t think he’s hiding from dialogue

Was she the one using the local high school logos without permission and almost got sued?

Not that has anything to do with politics or the CM but I thought that was kinda funny.
