Anyone tried this out or on it here? Trying to get a feel for just how bad this first month is going to suck. I'm planning on making it as comfortable as possible for the first bit and am going to load up on some Costco steaks to do so. I'm kind of dreading the withdrawals though.

I love it. Lost my taste for breads and pasta. Dropped 25 pound in two months and feel great.

Glad to hear that. Do you ever allow yourself cheat meals or a pizza or anything? I'm kind of concerned I won't be able to deal with it and then go on a carb bing if I ever do that down the road.

I plan on doing at least the first month clean in order to get used to it and build some discipline up. Giving up those diet dews is going to suck.

I don’t cheat, and eventually after the first few weeks once pounds start dropping, you won’t want to. Like I said, your desire for certain foods will lessen.

Just load up on your favorite meat meals. For me it’s cheeseburgers. I grill out a dozen or so for a week and eat when I’m hungry.

Just remember, no one sticks a gun to your head and says you have to eat pizza, so it’s mind over matter.

If you want to feel absolutely horrible, do this.

Yeah that's what I've read. Eating something with lots of carbs will make you miserable after your body switches over.

You're right, but I really love some good NY style pizza.

Also, just FYI, prepare for this thread to be derailed by a bunch of people who have absolutely no clue what they are talking about.

No worries, just wanted some first hand experience with it. So how bad is the first month really?

I don't think I'll do a steak a day forever, but it'll definitely be in the rotation. Bacon seems to be king for breakfast. I'm not a big egg fan, so that kind of limits me there. Lots of sausage and hamburger patties are probably in my future.

Depends where you are starting. I eat meat and fruit (as the OT is aware) and it wasn't that hard. I came from a diet centered around meat already though.

It won't be a month either way, but the first 14 days you may have some cravings and whatnot

I'm insanely carb heavy so I'm expecting not good things. It is what it is.

It’s all about commitment to will. Can’t go in thinking with halfway mentality.

And lay off all alcohol. I found that’s biggest kicker. If there’s one thing I miss it’s a good IPA.

No worries there. I'm pretty meat heavy already, it's just the fries.

Glad to hear some people are doing it and loving it though.

It’s very expensive but it will work.

The first few weeks are brutal because with the lack of carbs you’re going to be perpetually tired. But your body will self-correct over time.

Ehh, yes and no. You likely won't be eating out hardly at all. Steaks from Costco are only $10ish a lb. That's how much McDonald's is

I want to really stick to this kind of eating (fatty proteins and fruit, a few veggies, maybe dark chocolate for a treat), but the family’s eating habits make it too much work and money.

I do love it though. I feel great. Satiated. Energetic. It’s awesome.

This is 100% my problem with the vast, overwhelming majority if things I want to do in my life.

I'll probably end up even saving a bit since I eat out so damn much.

Wouldn't all that meat cause your cholesterol to skyrocket?
