Don't go there thinking you're getting 1990 Burger Tyme, it's not the same. They don't own those recipes, Peter Boulet from Crowley owns them. He's got all kind of stuff at PJ's if you make your way thru Crowley.

Never heard of this place. I like retro style logo and such. It's nice to see some brands stick to their roots.

Their "about us" page claims they use the original recipes.

Never had the pleasure of going to the Cajun Shrimper, but you may find these old photos interesting.

Here is the recipe to go with those photos

Shrimp Burgers (Shrimp Patties)

The recipe makes two patties – enough for two sandwiches see photos for clarity. The measurements are approximate – you can vary a little from this basic recipe and be fine.

Need:

20 peeled medium shrimp
2 Tablespoons panko bread crumbs
1 Tablespoon Hellman's Mayo
2 teaspoons garlic salt
2 teaspoons or less Slap Ya Mamma seasoning or Tony’s
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 Tablespoon green pepper , chopped
1 Tablespoon chopped onion , chopped
1 Tablespoon chopped celery, chopped
1 egg, whipped up with a fork

Optional – one drop of Zatarian’s crab boil oil

Directions:

Peel shrimp and devein if that is your thing. I hardly ever devein them unless they are jumbo shrimp. Place shrimp into a small food processor and pulse a few times to chop them up. You can do this with a chef’s knife or cleaver if you have no food processor.

Add the mayo, egg, green bell pepper, onions, celery, bread crumbs and spices. Mix well and form patties.

If you like crab boil oil, you could add just a drop, which would be plenty for two patties, but be careful, because a little (used as seasoning) goes a long way.
Cook patties in a hot, oiled sauté pan, until golden brown.

Serve on butter toasted buns with mayo, lettuce and tomato. Kettle chips are always nice. Cold Beer works well, too.

I'm gonna call BS on "it's not the same" burger and the seasoning. The Moody's still own the seasoning recipe. Burger Tyme is several blocks from my office as I've eaten there a half dozen times since it re-opened. The Cajun Blaze hamburger with smothered, spicy seasoned onions is still the same. Peter (PJ's Grill) does have some incredible food and not surprised if he bought several of Braxton's recipes.

FYI - I'm NOT affiliated in anyway with the Moody's or BT. I grew up in NOLA and moved to LAF in 1988 and frequented BT while in college.

Not even close. Check the drive thru when you pass you'll never see more than two cars. We tried it twice and it was like a piece of meatloaf that broke apart. Maybe it was a bad day for them but I doubt it makes it thru the year, we shall see ?

Made it MD, got to say it was pretty dang good. Salt content was way too high for me so I would probably just use a teaspoon of garlic powder instead of two teaspoons of garlic salt and let the Tony’s salt it when I make it again to see if that does the job fine, also had to add a bit more bread crumbs to get it to hold shape too. Didn’t have panko though and used regular breadcrumbs.

My wife didn’t sound excited when I told her what I was making, but after I served her and went made my daughter macaroni, I came back and found she wanted another lol.

Sadly I didn’t take any pics.
