Bull Chicks on Coursey - pretty good

Been wondering about that place. May check it out in the next few weeks.

Thanks, I had not seen the earlier review. I didn't realize it was family owned. That explains the service.

I'm a bit of a mark for their tequila lime chicken sandwich.

It's solid, good food. By far not the best sandwiches I've ever come across, but it's definitely not bad and it's a nice lunch option when I'm in the area.

As others have said, you probably won't want to go there if you only have 20 or 30 minutes and need a fast food lunch because they're not really fast food. They make it a point to tell their customers this through signage and let you know that their thing is to cook and prepare the food only once its ordered.

As we said, the drive through is slow because it's cooked to order. Be a man, get your arse out of your car, pickup truck, tractor, mule, the walk isn't going to kill you.

Ha! It's true. But fortunately for Bull Chicks, that Wal-mart Market thingy opening across the street will save them. If it wasn't for that bit of luck, they would be closing soon.

their potato salad was terrible....i think they put a smidgen of ketchup in there

Just to be clear, Bull Chicks is a chain. Started in Corpus Christi, TX. According to their website they have 9 locations. They have one in Louisiana (Baton Rouge). Basically, someone in Baton Rouge is a Bull Chicks franchisee. It isn't some independent, mom and pop restaurant.

They were open. I know it's hard to tell sometimes with them, but jeez, I'm not that oblivious. It was on a Saturday. Probably around 3 o'clock. This was over a year ago, when they just recently opened. I didnt' know anything about the place. I wanted a shake and they looked like a place that might serve shakes so I went to the drive thru. I didn't see any shakes on the menu, but I was going to ask to make sure. I waited, said HELLO, but didn't get a response. Waited a little more, then I drove away.

So basically you telling me they are slow. So I imagine they are real popular with the 30 minute lunch crowd. I tell you the real reason they cook to order is because they have so few customers. Cooking anything in advance would kill their food cost because they will be throwing half of the stuff away, waiting on customers that will never show. It's a shite business model for a fast-casual restaurant... with a drive thru. A drive thru that isn't open on Sunday by the way. That's called confusing the customer.
