yup - were talking organizing a few boxes into bags and throwing in some condiments and utensils. should take about 60 seconds and a couple bucks is plenty for that i think. thats not to say id never go more, but i wont call someone cheap for being in that ballpark

Why as a customer is it a concern of mine what they are making?
No way do I tip for a takeout order where I pretty much do everything. If for some reason I have a request and make them go out of their way, I may throw them a tip.

I just personally think you should tip in the 10% range on any take out order. Just bc the rest of America is cheap doesn't mean you have to be.

I usually tip $1 per entree ordered for to go orders, which is $3-4. I have a feeling that when they're working the to go counter, they aren't making $2.13 like they would be waiting tables.

It really depends on how cute the girl is. Sometimes I leave 0% on take outs, sometimes I have tipped upwards of 40%.

Nah. First of all, they really don't do anything but put the stuff in the bag. Second, the vast majority of people that do to go orders actually make a wage and then get small tips to add to that. They are not like waiters that make 2 dollars an hour...for the most part.
I'm a generous tipper, and I always tip on to go orders, and it is usually in the 10% range, but 3$ is fine for a takeout order.
I love how there is this thing now that, because you're rich, you're REQUIRED to tip more than 20%.
