Bravo Italian Restaurant on Bluebonnet (Mall of LA)

Had dinner there tonight. Food was pretty good, pasta was excellent, service was solid. The interior of the place looks really nice, bonus points for having an outdoor patio (which is great considering the perfect weather BR has had the last two days). Short wait for the food, which was surprising.
Good looking women there, enjoying martinis (though Wednesday is apparently the martini night). It's a little odd because you've got people dressed up really nice, and then the other half dressed casually because they were at the mall. For being a chain place, I like it so far.

Chain restaurant reviews should be banned from this forum.

As Tom Fitzmorris would say, "Boring food for boring people."
People who frequent chain restaurants are the same people who think that computer generated copies of pieces of art, as sold from big box retailers, is suitable for home display.

If I have a choice between going to a chain restaurant like Carrabbas for good food and awesome service, or a locally owned one like Gino's with okay food and consistently poor service, I'll stick with the chain restaurant.

Snob much? I guess you only buy hand made furniture and home accessories? And when you eat at a restaurant you ensure that the executive chef that made the menu is cooking your food?
Life is too short to be grumpy and pretentious. Do what makes your taste buds happy, and let other people do the same with theirs. Some chains use good ingredients and its quite easy to make good food with good ingredients.

bravo is one of the better chains. Pretty good value. Their turkey bacon avocado sandwich is good. Also shrimp fra diavolo, chicken bacon flatbread. The service is fast and good. For my money best chain in Br

Yes, but Fitzmorris is a douchebag.

I would pick Gino's over Carrabba's anytime, and I've never had bad service there ever. Or bad food for that matter.

i've eaten there twice .. really enjoyed it both times .. BJ's on again/off again service as well as small size (causing ridiculous 1 hour waits for tables) has really put bravo on the map over there ..

WHY? Some chains are good and provide a decent meal while others are horrible and should be avoided. Why shouldnt people dicuss to find out which ones are worth trying?

He can be quite the jackass, but this is as true a statement as one can ever make.
I don't understand BR's fascination with chains.

I avoid chains as much as possible, not that you can't get decent food at some of them, I just prefer to put my eating money in the hands of the guy/gal who laid it all on the line, betting on his food skills. There are exceptions, when I travel in the south, Alabama in particular, the food is dreadful. I frequently settle for a Subway or a BK because I have been burned so often by looking for a mom & pop place.
But in BR, I am not about to eat at The Times when across the street is Jones Creek Oyster Bar. Same price range, much better food. Why eat at Italian Pie when I can go aggravate Pokey?

Italian Pie was founded in nola. What's wrong with supporting them?

Because the food is terrible, and it's not close to being good. Everything I have ever had there has that "off" processed taste. Yuch.
