Call ahead when you're close to wherever you choose for a reservation and see openings. If push comes to shove, do what I do and sit at the bar wherever you go

I can handle that. Just not wanting an hour wait.
Fridays are a big night.. not so much Saturday. Plus downtown will be a mess if there is a parade (I don't know the schedule).

A good rule of thumb is that if there is a drive-thru, there is no wait.

If you are set on a steak place go to Doe's on Government and get a massive steak with some tamales

You bringing the whole litter?
If so, why not look into making a reservation?

No, just wife and daughter. And I don't know what time we'll be done so I can't make a ressie.
To the above poster that mentioned Does, we have one in Monroe. I've been several times. Easily one of the best steaks I've ever had.

If that doesn't work, then Albasha on Bluebonnet, just north of I-10, would be my second choice. They do a lot of carry out, so you might be able to get seated without reservations or a long wait. The lamb shank is my favorite item there.
We love the greek/Lebanese places in town.

I switch it up with Olive Garden and Red Lobster. What's not to like?
So these two & Outback are where you frequent? Unless your just being sarcastic I know that there are far better places in Monroe. Those three places together don't equal good food......Mediocre at best. Good luck and you've received some great recs on here
