Back in the seventies larry k's was on highland road where sammy's is now. I think he had more than one location, then ended up in cortana across from piccadilly.

Read through four pages and haven't seen Pete & Tillies. It was really thick pizza that I guess would be classified as Chicago style. Had an extra layer of cheese over the toppings. Mid 70's.

I loved that place. When I met him, my first roommate didn't know anyone except the other guys on the gymnastics team. They liked it and went there. I got hooked on it and went when I had the money. Worked concerts/events at the PMAC selling tee shirts. Got paid with cash. Went to Pete Tillies after every concert.

Props for he mention of Cherry's Potato Chips. Haven't tasted anything like them since. Also fondly remember a BBQ place on Winbourne near N Foster run by Anthony "Piggy Boo" Robinson. Just jaw dropping stuff came from his smoker. i THINK it was called Anthony's. There's a tax return / quick check place there now.

I thought the people that owned cafe louisiane were the carleton family. They have carleton catering. One of the brothers is about to open in central.
i know there was a manuel persica there every time i went there that would come out and talk to us .. he said he was the owner .. unless he was just some customer that was there every day just telling people that ..

Long time Rag, hope all is well...
I went to school with the Carlton's, they have had many restaurants and have done catering for years. Mostly Crawfish Boils now tho......they also cook Steaks every Friday at David's in Central.

1st, there was a semi-fast food restaraunt on Florida about parallel with Independence park. Sold Arby's style Roast Beef sandwiches (but better quality) and some really awesome apple turnovers. 80's?
You are talking about Rax, good stuff. It was a roast beef chain, and apparently still around.

I worked at Nooley's in Central my senior year of high school. We all got a pink slip for Christmas. It was fun working there though.

We had a school field trip to their plant in like the second or third grade. I'm pretty sure they shut down not long afterwards. Only thing I really remember is that it was a pretty nasty looking place -- but it smelled good and I still ate the free chips they gave us.

There was also Blue Bird brand(unless my memory
has failed me) ice cream on Choctaw that had the
best black cherry ice cream I ever had.
