In the discussion for sure. I like Casamento's better. But taste in the end is subjective. One good thing about Bozo's is they have seperate fryers to fry each different seafood.

This is, as Bobby Hebert would say, krooshul.

Uglesich's used to be the best at this, imo, fwiw.

I loved it before it went "big time". I remember sitting on a Coca-Cola crate waiting for a table. When we'd get back to the office the ride up in the elevator was fragrant.

First time I went there I was in 1981. My family is good friends with the Brown's Dairy clan, right across the street from there. The ultimate dive place. Guy Fieri would have dropped his pants at that place.

Actually, I get kind of sad thinking about it. I miss it.

Underrated. Simple, well prepared, fresh seafood.

Very good fried but probably the best raw in the city.

Bozo's is definitely at the top of the list as far as fried oysters are concerned...they do not overwhelm you with quantity, but they surely make up for it in quality. They come out hot and fresh every time and somehow they manage to serve all of their fried food virtually grease free (a wonderful mystery). It's one of the best kept secrets due to it being neatly tucked away, and don't show up expecting some special atmosphere because it has more of a country kitchen type of feel. Bottom line: this place is bad arse

if you ever want REAL nola food advice just go to www.nomenu.com...fitz is an eating machine who is not afraid to tell it how it is. His blog is impeccable with respect to being up to date and incredibly informative. This is me and my friends Bible...

Except how he pimps Andrea's and rates it ahead of places that are infinately better. Advertising dollars, brah. Andrea's isn't even close to a top 50 restaurant in NO.

Fitzmorris occasionally has something interesting to say. Unfortunately, he is A) the biggest whore in the food universe for those who advertise with him and feed him, and B) he is ridiculously provincial to the point of losing all credibility.

think what you want about fitz, but I have never regretted one of his places I have been to...although I do have to qualify my opinion, I'm a grad student at LSUHSC and we typically choose places that you can eat at for anywhere from $8 to $20 because we are broke. This guy has continually sent us to awesome places I wouldn't have found otherwise

Agree 100%.......My dad used to be good friends with the guy who supplied them with their oysters. We had a camp near Port Sulphur and we roughly knew the boats schedule so we would always time our trip in the winter so we could meet them right when they got in so we could buy a sack.

One thing they have that is underrated is their fried shrimp, I don't know what they fry them in, but it's my absolute favorite.

I'm a fitzmorris fan but I know how pretentious he can be. Myself and a few other posters on this board hung out on his for several years before it kind of fizzled out. Used to be the best food board around. And pretty funny Anything Goes board which was very similar to the OT Lounge. They both died a bad death.

Used to be up on Carrolton if I remember. And the reason for no sign is because they didn't want the riff raff to follow them to the new location.
