Looking to get a good scotch for xmas just gotta tell the gf which one to get. I am petty limited on scotch drinking other than having chivas 12 year multiple times.

A number of single malts can be had for well under $100.

If you enjoy the blends, there are multiple styles by compass box that should suit you well. Stop by a local store and pick their brain - suggestions and recommmendations based on what you're looking for can yield over 50 options for you. :-)

Good Hunting!

Anyone with any suggestions? And there isn't a Costco in BR so helpful places to buy would be appreciated as well.

Am I the only one who read your title and thought "under 100" meant 'years old'?

I'm not a scotch drinker, but had some of this a few weeks back. It's some good stuff. Waiting on a reason to pick me up a bottle.

Macallan 18 is about 140 a bottle unless you can get the costco knockoff. For under 100 I would go with the Highland Park 18. Highland Park has just a hint of smokiness without being overpowering. I'm fairly new to scotch and the first time I tasted the smokiness I was like , but now I'm like , especially with this cold weather.

That's a good deal, but it's the same stuff either way I think, just wish I had one near me.

They had a Costco brand Macallan that was Sherry casked. It was bottled and labeled with the Kirkland brand. Very inexpensive and it was pretty good to be honest.

The current sale is the standard Macallan bottled 18 y.o. and its superb!
