No photos, because I just don't like doing that to my dining companions. Went their Thurs night since they were participating in the Dine out for Paws campaign (a LaSPCA fundraiser) and it was close to us. Hadn't been in awhile, but had heard from friends that it was in serious decline. Got their around 7:30 - not crowded at all - maybe 4 other people. the menu consisted of 90% fried food, which I found very different for them. Ordered 4 small plates to share. Their fries are usually great - the batch they sent out was a decidedly mixed bag - the top half were cold as hell, and the bottom ones were hot. Thai chicken salad was good - nice vinegary bite to it, but not really sure if there was any real Thai influence (and, it was our only non-fried dish). Had some shrimp/orange fritters which were deep fried and tasted as if the oil should have been changed out weeks ago. Had some type of Mongolian bread dish, which was supposed to be roasted with a herb butter - never knew roasted was the equivalent of fried with butter. Only positive is that they have dropped their prices - 4 small plates and two cocktails, and bill totaled $50. Unfortunately, based on the quality, overpriced and we won't be back unless, and until, there's some better street reviews about these guys.

Their menu has gotten progressively less interesting each time I've been (4-5 times). Still do a good cocktail, but...

ETA Much rather go across the street to Oxalis

Oxalis is very good. I'm not certain Booty's and Maurepas are long for the culinary world. Both started off with a bang, but appear to have gotten extremely complacent and bad. Judging by the empty tables on both, I'll be surprised if either last much longer.

I wouldn't quite hang it on "The Bywater." The Franklin, Mariza's, Oxalyis, Bacchanal, Pizza Delicious, The Joint and even Sui Generis are all damn strong. Maurepas and Booty's both were very good in the beginning. I get the feeling that the owners of Booty's are now more focused on the new place at South Market. Maurepas - I have no clue. I think the chef/owner just gets too damn cute for his own good re off the wall recipes.

It's really too bad. Both Booty's and Maurepas were good at one time. I've never tried Oxalis, but I will next time I'm in that part of town.

F this place and their $3 aoile kechup

locals need to quit giving bywater restaurants business so real estate prices will go down.

Is "The Marigny" a "no no" as well? I want to be sure.

I think there's a good chance this is the case. I've been disappointed on my past few trips. I actually walked out last time after looking over the menu and went somewhere else.

We almost left once we viewed that evening's menu, too. Only reason we stayed was due to their participation in the SPCA fundraiser. Should have left and just sent a separate check to the SPCA.

If the Lucky Rooster could not make it in that location I have a hard time seeing Booty's doing well. I've been a few times and the experience got even worst every time.

I know the Lucky Rooster was started by the guy who owns Juan's and it was an experiment.
