Brigtsen's uses the Bonnecaze Farms stone ground grits made out of Baton Rouge. Have any of you used any of the products? I was thinking of ordering a few to try.

Here's the site.

I haven't used any of their products, but I wonder how on earth they crimp oats!

Yeah, they sell them at Calandro's. I've bought the yellow grits and the polenta. They were good. I think the prices on the site are a little higher than what I paid in the store.

I’ve used both grits, their cornmeal and their fish fry. The fish fry is pretty light though. It’s good stuff. Their cornmeal and some good flour makes a helluva cornbread.

I'm interested in the fish fry as well. As long as it makes crispy fish, I'd like to try it. I usually just use cornmeal.

I've used their grits, cornmeal and cracker meal. I like all of their stuff. It's available at Calvin's too.

I'm curious about the oats. I'd never heard of crimped oats before. How do they compare to regular rolled oats or steel-cut oats?

I think they're run through steel rollers.

Why does it all have to be stone ground?
