So you made corned beef? Did you put cabbage in it or make hash?

Not sure what "Irish Style" means, but when I do a corned beef, I buy the whole brisket, trim it a bit, make my liquid and herb brine and put that in my fridge for 2 weeks before cutting in in half and boiling one piece of it for corned beef and smoking the other half for pastrami.

When I make the corned beef, I just have to also have smothered cabbage with potatoes and carrots to go with it, along with some good rye bread.

One year at a crawfish boil I tossed an uncooked store bought corned beef in the boil water to cook after the crawfish were removed. It came out great and was a big hit.

Tujague's brisket and sauce recipe. I also use the sauce for seafood, add a a squeeze of lemon.

Corned beef is boiled brisket and it's delicious. Not sure how one would be if it wasn't corned first though. I agree the phrase "boiled brisket" is weird and off putting.

Oh I know what it is. Though I don't recall ever having it.

But as a BBQ purist, "boiled brisket" gives me the frisons.

when you boil without corning, you are making a New England dinner! serve with carrots, cabbage and potatoes. Don't forget the horseradish sauce !

Boiled brisket (unbrined) is a traditional New Orleans meal. It's delicious.
