Do you still cook at home? Eat out or do take out?
Any issues with washing dishes in water advised to boil?

Yes, but how often do you cook with water that is not going to be brought to a boil?
you're over thinking this
quote:boil water for consumption, you can still use soap+water

quote:No, he's not. Officials in my area said that after you wash the dishes in soapy water and rinse with the tap water, you should rinse again by dipping the dishes in water with a small amount of Clorox. (Like a teaspoon per gallon.)

Not sure why you guys are giving Nate grief. The APA protocol for sanitation during boil water alerts stipulate washing with soap and scrubbing for mechanical removal, followed by a water rinse to remove particulates and soap. followed by a rinse with chlorine treated water to sanitize the food implements, plates, utensils, pots and pans, and food handling surfaces.
With as many of my fellow posters here as I recall reading who claim to have shite their guts out after eating no more than a salad, hamburger or taco, I would suspect you guys should be paranoid about food safety in a boil water situation.
Better safe than sorry.
I could show you guys my APHA Certification, or just laugh when you get the three day squirt shits.

Thanks MD!
I don't thinking I'm overthinking it so much as many underthinking it. Cooking at home requires so much more than people realize.
You cook rice, you need water. Yeah it gets boiled. You slice an onion and you need to clean the work space(cutting board and counter most likely), the knife the container you might put the diced onions in. You may well need water for a gravy, yeah, it gets boiled possibly but there's the cleanup of the pot, utensils, dishes and so on.
Heck you may spend more time boiling water than anything else.

Thank god the human race has never had to survive without chlorinated municipal water, not sure we could survive as a species.

You should take a trip to Mexico and drink the water. I’m sure you will be okay. Remember to send us a post card.

Water = Ice = Margeritas'
It's a wonder all the tourist are not dead yet.
Are you one of the jackoffs that walk around with a facemask all day lest you breath unfiltered air?

The water in my town is generally sketchy. Not usually on a boil advisory level but not good in general. We use bottled water anytime we cook rice, pasta, etc. As for washing the dishes, I just always figured the heat from the dishwasher would kill anything.

I'm sure they pay close attention to the source of the water they drink while south of the border. If they manage to stay away from getting their heads chopped off by the cartel, they generally make it home in one piece.

Not hardly and you would be surprised to know that I also don't carry around hand sanitizer with me as well.

The bourbon will kill anything in the water.
Little known fact, bacteria hate bourbon.

A good reason would be because hand sanitizer doesn't work

I'm a little concerned about getting cassed with my patnas at the neighborhood dive tonight.

Precisely why I don't use it.
