Headed to Blue Ridge at the end of the month and was looking for recommendations. We Ate at Black Sheep previously which we will go again this trip, but i was looking for other recommendations so can make reservations. We are staying in Cherry Log so restaurants outside of Blue Ridge are welcome as well. Thanks

Really enjoyed this place. Didn't much care for Harvest on Main, but it could have been a bad night for them as everyone else seems to like it.

Cucinella is good for pizza. We like La Catrina in Ellijay for Mexican.

Mystic Mountain pizza is amazing and has a really cool vibe to it, also in the same shopping center is a mexican place that had the best salsa ever. total hole in the wall. we stayed at cherry log this past march and really enjoyed our stay. I made a mistake and left some apples in the car and we where robbed by bears...

I will always remember a special 20 year wedding anniversary at Black Sheep.

Black Sheep will never be on my list to return to in Blue Ridge. A few years ago after getting good recommendations about the place, I walked in one afternoon to make reservations, 4 days in advance of our 20th wedding anniversary. They asked what the occasion was, and I told them. "Yes sir", the hostess said. That will be fine, dinner for 2 at 7:00 on the desired night was set.

On the night of our anniversary we showed up a few minutes early. They asked if there was a special occasion, and I told them again, and reiterated that I told them of the 20th anniversary the day I made the reservations. They said our table wasn't quite ready yet, but they would let us know when it was, and to have a seat at the bar.

All night long, they kept trying to get us to eat at the bar, but we politely declined because it was our 20th anniversary and we expected a table as promised. They kept saying they were sorry the table wasn't ready, and offered us a drink. After 2 drinks we started declining them because we wanted wine with dinner, and knew we had to drive home after the meal.

Long story short, around 9:00 they said if we didn't eat at the bar they couldn't serve us because the kitchen was closing at 9:30.

BTW, they did seat a couple of larger parties while we waited for the table that never happened, and when I asked about it, they said they were being seated because the large tables were reserved for them.

We left and went somewhere else, never to return.

I would highly recommend "The General Ledger." In an old bank building facing the tracks.
Excellent service, excellent food.
Was there about a month ago and if I ever get that way again I'll definitely go back.

Not to start a new thread but kind of a spin-off—we are still looking at places. Where’s the best area? Was thinking Blue Ridge (found a cool spot overlooking the lake). Is Ellijay just as cool as BR? Mineral Bluff? Are they all close enough that it doesn’t matter? Thanks

Ellijay and Mineral Bluff are both 15-20 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge. Ellijay has several vineyards, apple houses, a cidery, and a decent little downtown area. Mineral Bluff doesn't really have anything going on, but it's quiet and has proximity to BR.

We stayed at Mineral Bluff this past year. We got a little cabin right on the river there. Not sure I'd even call Mineral Bluff a town. Think it had a red light or maybe it was just a four way stop? It was very close to Blue Ridge.

Yeah, there's a 3-way stop, a gas station, and a Dollar General of course. That's about the extent of it.

Link to the place please?
I’m kind of looking for an inn or resort up that way.

Hopefully this works

It’s an Airbnb not inn or resort

Ferraro's
Sue's Burgers
The Waterfront Bar (Copper Basin)
Cucinellas
General Ledger
Margos (too expensive for Polish food, but good)

I find most of the restaurants there to be tourist traps. Made to seem fancy, but mostly Sysco product (Black Sheep, Grace)

I’ll be up that was this weekend for the Apple Festival. Also heading to an October Festival while I’m up there. My three sisters live in Woodstock, Ga.
