t does strike me as sort of a weird thing for someone from N. Miss to specifically seek out in traveling New Orleans. Even a place like High Hat sort of styles itself as Mississippi Delta style food.

He’s passing though Nola. Never been. He has eaten out one night so far and now his wife is asking for thin catfish. This is one of her favorite dishes so he was asking if there is anyplace that may serve it in the city.

I figured TD would have the answer. Good suggestions so far

But in the city of New Orleans, Barrow's (Earhart Blvd near Carrollton) might be the best bet.

Barrow's is real good but it's not thin fried.

I think the Middendorf’s in Slidell is closed.

Nope. I ate there Friday. Wasn’t my choice but first option was closed due to boil water advisory.
Second time at this location and now I remember why I haven’t been back.

But I guess if you’re from Iowa and your Nola hotel package includes this place with a swamp your, then it’s the place you go

Go to Phil’s in Slidell. It’s better than middendorphs. Hell I’d go to Kenny’s seafood for their fish platter. That’s some good fish

Isn't north MS the land of fried catfish? Why not try something else down here?

Excellent place. Was going there last Friday but it was closed, Boil water advisory. Their fried shrimp special is great

Pecks is good too, but pricy.
