That's a shame. If you ever get to the original or one of the nicer ones try it again. I seriously thought it was one of the best steaks I've had.

I've had some good steaks at Does, but it's no Flemming's or Ruth's.

In most other cities I've been to I'd tell you you could go with Ruth's Chris and probably not be disappointed. But sadly I can't say that about Baton Rouge.

What's so different about the one here? I've been many times, and never had a bad ribeye! I've never been to one in another city though. What's the deal?

For too long they were the only game in town. And I think they took their customers for granted. It's just not the same as the experiences I've had in New Orleans, Memphis, Las Vegas and a few other cities.

I am also on a search for a great steak. Went to Fleming's and didn't think it was all that great. Best I have found is at Hilltop Inn in Maurepas. I plan on trying Doe's and Little Village soon.

I went late, and there was only one other table. It just didn't stand out as being incredible...

There is just so much wrong with this. This isn't good by Bonanza standards.

Learn how to cook and stay at the house.I'll never get into dropping $50 on a steak when I know damn well I can do as good or better at my place.

Not true. I've had steaks in Miami, Vegas, New Orleans, you name it. The steak I had at Hilltop was very good.

I just want a big-arse steak, and don't want to have to go to Big Texan in Amarillo to get it. I guess I'll get the 3-pound sirloin at Doe's.

These were a couple of fine steaks and I picked them up at Albertsons and they aren't prime. They went down good though.

No red vino with the steaks, or was that just a "pre-dinner" cocktail?

If you like wine, Flemings is the best choice. Their steak is incredible, and each dish has a wine pairing. Also, every mow and then they have a "Bring your own bottle" night. It's a set price (usually $45 ea) and you bring your wine, they serve it, and you have a set menu. Great experience. Great service. Great steak.
