Hot Brown Sandwich at the Brown Hotel in downtown Louisville. Its an open-faced sandwich of turkey(not the deli kind), and bacon, covered in Mornay sauce and baked or broiled until the bread is crisp and the sauce begins to brown with tomatoes over the sauce and. I have to get one everytime in Louisville.

Central Muff is #2 and Katz Rueben is #3

Went to Gott Gourmet on Magazine St. for lunch yesterday for the first time. I had the St. Patty's Day Massacre. Braised and pulled corned beef, gruyere, horseradish cheddar, french fries, ancho-honey slaw, 1,000 island creole mustard on pumpernickel/rye bread. Pretty damn good, but busy.
Anyone else been there? I'll definitely be going back. The breakfast menu looks pretty good.

I've had this there as well. Good sandwich. Not the best I've ever had but a good one nonetheless.

Bobby Flay did a Throwdown with the two brothers that make this.

In the middle of the summer, in the middle of a hot night when you can't sleep:

2 slices of soooooft white bread
1 slice of american cheese
2 sandwich slices of dill pickles.

Layer like so:
bread
cheese
pickle/pickle
bread.

Anybody remember the Joe's Special from The Library on Chimes?

It was a muffelatta, except with roast beef and swiss with gravy instead of the Italian meats and cheese.

The taste of he olives was great with the beef!

A medianoche is a Cuban Sandwich on sweet yellow bread instead of Cuban bread. Only a handful of places you can even find them in Louisiana.
